Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship

Barnsley Academy gave new fire to the Apprentice this week when we became an educational establishment to employ an apprentice.

Supported by Apprenticeships.org.uk and Barnsley College, we have been able to provide 5 young people with an apprenticeship programme that will not only provide them with a valid recognised qualification, but will invaluable life experience.

Dave Berry, Principal, recognised the gap in the market and felt that an Academy should be one of the leaders in promoting chances to young employees brining out the ULT motto of ‘the best in everyone’.

Josh Allen our Laboratory Technician joined the programme which will enable him to gain the NVQ Level 3 Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities qualification.

Dale Wood joined us as a Data Apprentice which will enable him to gain the ITQ Level 3 in IT.

Dominic Howell joined us as an ICT Apprentice which will enable him to gain the City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in ICT.

Gemma Caddick, an ex student, joins us in September as a Teaching Support Apprentice which will enable her to gain the City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Support Teaching and Learning in Schools.

Jess Worsley joined us as an Administration Apprentice which will enable her to gain Business Administration NVQ Level 2.

Lauren Hague joined us as a Media Apprentice working towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Design Level 3.
