Assessment

Throughout each unit, students are informally assessed as to whether or not they have met specific key progress indicators. Following this, students are formally assessed on the whole topic that they have covered in class using examination style questions. This is done approximately every half term. They are then given an opportunity to reflect on their learning and any misconceptions are addressed, before moving onto the next topic. Furthermore, at the end of the year all of the topics listed above are assessed in the end of year exam.

Homework

A substantial piece of homework is set and will be completed once a fortnight. In Years 7, 8 & 9 homework follows the cycle of: a numeracy based homework task, a literacy based homework task and then a specific topic based task. Students will be given 1 week to complete their homework to the best of their ability.
