Year 11 GCSE

GCSE Results this year again showed an improvement on last year’s figures with specific details being as follows:

  • The Attainment 8 figure has increased from 3.80 last year to 4.15 this year, representing on average approximately a quarter of a grade improvement for all students
  • The indicative Progress 8 figure this year is above the floor threshold at -0.41, an increase of 0.22 on last year’s figure of -0.63 (again about a quarter of a grade per student per subject improvement)
  • The legacy headline figure of 5 GCSE’s A*- C including English and Maths has been maintained at 42% this year
  • The percentage of students who achieved at least a Grade C in both English and Maths increased from 45.6% to 47.2%
  • Significant improvements occurred in most other subjects, including Geography (29% to 57%), History (33% to 53%) and French (31% to 96%)

  • As can be seen, albeit with very small numbers, improvements have been made this year in all measurements except for the highest A Level grades of A*- A.
  • All students who applied for Higher Education were accepted at their first choice University, with three of these being Russell Group Universities
