Global Enterprise Week and the Enterprise team delivered lots of Enterprising events. Staff delivered lessons based on an item which was issued to staff on Sunday evening.

How the Business and Enterprise specialism impacts on learning at Barnsley Academy

Our students have a wide variety of learning experiences which incorporate enterprise. Trips to local businesses, taking part in local and national competitions and involvement in real businesses within the community make learning at Barnsley Academy both engaging and challenging for students.

How students manage Enterprise within school

From September 2010, students will be leading on Enterprise within the Academy. We have formed a student council which is set up like a large organisation. Students will have the opportunity to build on their Enterprise skills such as leadership, Financial Management and Teamwork. The group plans to generate their own funds in their own bank account, which will go back into the school to fund more enterprising projects.

Subjects within the Enterprise specialism

The subject within the specialist area include; ICT, Business, and Enterprise. These subjects fully integrate the key Enterprise skills and give students the opportunity to build, progress and demonstrate in lessons.
