At Barnsley Academy, we strive for all students to excel and to achieve success and well-being in the future.
The academy provides a vibrant and positive learning environment to nurture young minds, encourage independence and creativity, develop confidence and communication and ultimately, drive their aspirations and ambitions, both in school and beyond.
We are all motivated by United Learning's core values of Ambition, Confidence, Creativity, Determination, Enthusiasm and Respect. Students are outstanding ambassadors for Barnsley Academy; we set high expectations and standards and through our shared vision, work exceptionally well as a community.

Ofsted 2017 told us -
Arrangements to safeguard pupils are effective. Pupils feel safe and know how to keep safe.
The conduct of pupils around the school is orderly and calm. Behaviour has significantly improved.
Pupils are extensively involved in local charitable projects, ranging from fundraising for a local children’s hospital, local enterprise and animal charities and involvement in joint projects with the police.
Leaders have ensured that there is a comprehensive and developmental careers programme in place in all year groups. This is part of a wider-ranging personal, social and health education programme which also covers themes such as keeping safe, mental health, relationships and fundamental British values. Pupils can explain well their strong awareness of fundamental British values.
October 2016 - Leadership of the school - You know the school well and your drive to improve the life chances of the young people in your care is at the centre of the actions you are taking to improve the school
